CUP Area
A word CUP isn't related to any sport at all, but it stands for Centrinė Universalinė Parduotuvė (Central Department Store).
This shopping mall and Hotel Radisson Blu Lietuva (tall building on the right side) were built in 1970s as the beginning of Vilnius city expansion to the Neris river right coast.

Air Balloons flying over you - is a very common thing in Vilnius. Every morning and every evening tens of balloons liftoff from different parts of city.
This picture was taken from Gediminas' Hill Tower, the highest natural spot in Vilnius.

Downtown
Vilnius downtown is located in Šnipiškės area. Because of all these skyscrapers gathered in one place, Vilnius looks like any other American city with downtown in the middle.
Interesting fact is that Lithuanian currency Litas was pegged to USD from 1994 to 2002, which shows some very close connection between Lithuanian and US, I just don't understand which one and why? :)
